Rupert studied in Switzerland with Christian Poltéra in Lucerne and with Thomas Demenga in Basel, where he graduated with distinction. He is a cello instructor at the public music schools Kulm and Beinwil am See in Switzerland. Besides teaching, Rupert plays as a substitute in orchestras such as the City Light Symphony Orchestra (Lucerne) and the Camerata Cantabile (Zurich).
